Manufacturing Foils by Single Roller Melt-spinning
- FUKUDA manufactures foil strips and flakes by spraying molten metal onto a rapidly rotating copper roll, where it rapidly solidifies.
- This manufacturing method can be used to produce foils and flakes with amorphous, metallic glass and nanocrystalline structures.
- Magnesium or various other alloys can be produced.
- Magnesium alloys can be produced entirely within an inert gas environment, from creating and collecting the foil to inserting billets.
